28 April 2016
A cool but sunny day for a Ravens 5K handicap. We have temporarily gone back to the ‘old’ course, starting and finishing at the bridge at the end of the canals, and missing out the loop of the small King Edward Memorial Park. That led to some faster times as the runners missed out on the ‘massive climb’ to the top of the park. The first 14 finishers all finished ahead of their handicap average. Today’s first finisher was first timer Astrid so, as per usual rules of not allowing a first timer to win the race, the winner today was the second over the line, Rob Laing, who shows what excellent form he is in.

The winner! (note Mick sulking)
Provisional results are here:

Here are the provisional results from yesterday’s 5K handicap. I say  provisional as there was such a mass bundle at the finish it was a job  for the run recorders to get everyone recorded as they all raced across  the line together. I blame  the handicapper….

The winner was Jason Sidgwick on account of our first two finishers  being first timers – don’t worry Edward and Michael, there’s always next  time. Although I have you marked now. Great to see so many people out  ‘enjoying’ the run. Some  good performances in there too.
