Another day, another 5K. For 30 intrepid runners it was a good day to run the canals. School holidays meant fewer obstacles to swerve on a warm and dry course. Well done all.
First home today was first timer Jim Wai. Second home, and winner of today’s handicap was Andrew Ferguson who has been running a few PB’s recently. Well done Andrew, I shall review your handicap accordingly… Many great runs today including our very own Ravens Founding Father Ricky Goad racing in to finish 3rd and a fastest run time today of 17.06 from Andrew Mercer. Chris meadows stopped off for an ice cream apparently…

What a day. Anyone not running today will not appreciate the obstacles our runners faced – tree surgery is a new one for this course I believe. So some of today’s performances were exceptional. 2nd place home but winner (due to the first finisher being a first timer) in a PB time of 18.26 was Mike McGeown. And Tim Sherman’s 16.30 is up there too. Well done to all the runners.

Another good turnout on a fine if chilly day saw 37 top athletes (in our own minds) battling it out around the usual route, busy with plenty of 'new years' traffic. First two finishers were first timers (welcome Jon and Patrick) who aren't eligible to win the event. So I am extremely pleased to announce that the winner of the event, having been a very regular participant, was Dennis Williams with a run time of 23.28.
I am listing the results and times which are PROVISIONAL as I had a systems malfunction at the start (or organisational cock up as it's also known) so please take the actual run times as approximate. The finish position and finishing time are however correct.

Many thanks as always go to our helpers: Greg and Stuart L who helped me with the registration and finishing positions, Vicky, Arif, Wes and Rupert for marshalling. As ever, we can't do it without your help.
Next event is the regular 5K on 26th March - we miss a month so you get February off. Aren't we kind.
